So I'm applying to colleges right now, and I have to fill out my intended major. Nutrition and Dietetics are usually grouped together on websites and such, so I don't really understand the difference between the two majors. On the applications I have to choose one or the other. I'm not sure which one to pick. I know you're not supposed to choose your major based on salary, but let's face it, no one does. I want the major that will help me make more money. If I'm going to college for four years and these two majors are basically the same thing (but different enough they count as two different things), I don't want to mess up and choose the wrong one and not be able to qualify for certain jobs. So which one is the better one?

A dietetics major is for those that want to become registered dieticians. You’ll need to complete an ADA-approved internships in order to work as a dietitian.

A nutrition major focuses on the science (although dieticians need to take the core courses in nutrition science and supporting sciences). It’s for people who don’t plan to practice as dieticians. Instead, they might plan to go o medical school, graduate school, etc.
