NY Research opportunies in math/physics?

Hi I live in NYC. Does anyone know any university that is accepting high school students for researching in mathematics/physics? I want to research something in set theory and the continuum hypothesis but I haven't found any colleges yet that have something...

Also, can I write my own paper doing this research or does my name simply appear as an extra on the professor who is writing the paper?

If not math then I would still be interested in researching on physics. I have good grades and well versed with Maple software.

Also, I wonder if I have to pay for it? Since I am assisting the professor I hope I should not have to do this.

It’s sort of late to be asking right now … almost every summer program’s deadline was before April.

Your best bet is to contact individual professors (see [this thread](http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/summer-programs/1063234-how-apply-independent-research-internships.html) for some advice on this) and hope that they’d still like someone to help. Each professor and their lab has different needs, so you’ll just need to call/email around.

Depends on the professor. If you make a groundbreaking discovery, you’ll probably end up writing more. And if you get stuck as just a lab assistant or something … ah well.

No, you’re the intern/assistant …
