NY Times article about admitted GW student

nice article. In fairness, though, $50,000/year for a family of 2 is not exactly low income.

I LOVED that article! It made me happy lol. I think that is one of the best things about GW. You don't get a whole lot of people who "bought" their way in with tutored-SATs and manufactured essays like you do at some other schools. Even my richest friends earned their admission fair and square. So, thumbs up to this Kevin Robinson kid...

Yeah I was suprised that he didn't get into the other schools he applied to. I can see him not getting into Columbia...but not Skidmore, BU, and U. of Delaware? He had a 1950 and a 3.65...interesting.

UDel, yeah, but that's not a guarantee at BU in the slightest.
haha CB West. That's not too far from me. Theyre sending a couple kids to BU from the CB schools :)

nothing is a gaurantee anywhere, especially for an average bright kid like this. despite what they profess, most colleges really go for the highly-packaged type of student. i'm glad GW can see beyond that and suspect that speaks well for the kids who end up there.

are you kidding me? GW is filled with kids who had SAT tutoring, etc.
