NY Times Article on Decisions on Colleges Without Access to Campuses

Fortunately (until grad school!) we’re past this phase, but I’ve seen a few people mention their frustration about this here. I don’t know if the article will be helpful, but…

@AsMother , thanks for the link, we have 2 schools we were hoping to see Xavier in Ohio and UMinn, not sure how that will play out we could do a 10 hour drive to Xavier , see a empty campus and get a feel how close it is to Cincinnati , UMINN would be much more difficult form NJ. best case things get better and we make a dash there very late April before decision day. Worse case they are off the list.

Definitely makes a stressful situation tougher. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for sharing this. Every bit of information is helpful.

Someone should coordinate a thread offering the opportunity for admitted students to talk to your kid (text or phone) about their college. I’ve done some of this one on one already.

I’m surprised colleges themselves haven’t been doing this already as a way to keep some students occupied now their campus jobs are no longer needed. Maybe it will happen soon, once other things are out of the way and all results are out. However an unfiltered opinion might be even more helpful.
