Over in Maryland , there is a large community of Koreans, and this is more of what I’m talking about, who are recent immigrants, ( and when I say immigrants, they could be doctors, lawyers, silicon valley engineers, certainly not your stereotypical asian immigrant ) a formerly close acquaintance was one, he had come over when he was 16 from Korea. His parents as well as he,have an unabashedly HYP mentality, sort of like Paik’s post where she said she was a “sucker for brand name colleges”…they *know * they want HYPM, but they don’t know whythey should want it…they have not done the research, nor do they have the time or motivation…I have experienced firsthand this mentality, and I couldn’t agree with you more, this is actually underneath it all, destructive to our society.</p>
<p>fabrizio, you’re absolutely right,the phrase “your home country” has no right to exist in our lexicon.</p>
