I am thinking of commuting to St. John's university in Queens Ny, however I dont know how to get there by subway from the bronx. I live near fordham road . can anyone help me.

Try this website hopstop.com
They give good enough directions for the subways/railways and buses. as well as walking directions if necessary.

Take the Bx22 Bus from E Fordham Rd and Third Av station heading to Pelham Pkwy or Fordham
Get off at Valentine Av and Fordham Rd
Entrance near intersection of E Fordham Rd and Grand Concourse
Take the D train from Fordham Rd station heading Downtown / to Coney Island
Get off at 47-50 Streets - Rockefeller Center
Take the QM1A Bus from 6 Av/49 St station heading to Glen Oaks, Queens
Get off at Union Tpke/Utopia Pkwy

Seems a bit long… Why not dorm?

///////////////walk

lethargytm, is that a joke?

googlemaps actually now gives you directions via public transportation, it’s pretty baller.

Are you from NYC? How do you not know how to use the subway, or at least how to look up a route with a subway map?

i used to live in nyc, and iwalked everywhere.

walking is good for the soul.

go to the mta website

While yes, it is faster, the QM1/1A is an express bus from manhattan to queens and the cost is $5 each way.

If you take the train to Rockefeller station, take the uptown “F” train to Queens (be on the back end of the train). Take the F to Union Turnpike- Kew Gardens. Go upstairs and take the Q46 bus. It does not matter which one you take as they all go down union turnpike. Get off at Uptopia pwky and Union (in front of the Cold Stone/Citibank).

True. I had just copied it off that site.

^ That is definitely the better way. And pretty damn accurate (down to the stop). But, the bus stop for the Q46 is right before Utopia. You can’t get off by Cold Stone. That’s for catching it.

You can also take the “F” train to the last stop and take either the Q30 or
Q31 both which run down uptopia parkway placing you more centrally located in the campus.

yeah but lethargym, you can’t walk from the bronx to queens

yea you can. itll just take a while. ugh i am going to nyc in august so i can go to this cafe in nyc. they have authenic new zealand pies, which i have been craving for since 2001.

^ yes, because that’s so capable of pulling off on a weekly basis :|

thats why you can run. or bike.

You’re right. After all, there’s nothing like arriving to class in dripping sweat.

sweating shows determination.

^ so does passing out?

thank you for all the help guys , i just dont know what to do because dorming will cost me 12,000 a year and traveling would be half that. it does seem like a pretty long trip though.

well gases are going up so you never know.
