I got a nomination for NYLC (National Youth Leadership Council). Is this a fraud (is it worth paying 1400 dollars)? It looks very prestigious. They even sent me nominees of ppl who went from my school years ago. A few of them went to really good schools like MIT, Yale, Vanderbilt, etc. so is it a fraud or is it a really good thing to have on your application? i would appreciate a quick response.

If it has a REAL signature on the letter and had people that you know go there and went to good schools, I would say it isn't a fraud. I'm not too experianced in this, but my brother got a similar letter listed one of his friends who liked it. That was for this medical summer program thing, though.

I got that letter too. There are a lot of organizations like that. Most are probably not frauds; just kind of expensive for how much time you spend there. I know some people going to them though, and if you can afford it, it is worth going.

those things are stupid because anyone who can pay can go. colleges know that and so those programs aren't highly regarded

lol...don't bother I got one every year since freshmen year...it's nothing special..
