OK i took my PSAT and recently I've been getting A LOT of mail from summer programs and colleges. Two of them are the National Student Leadership Conference (NSLC) and the National Youth Leadership Forum for Medicine (NYLF). I'm interested in med in both of these programs but they are both really expensive and time consuming (I have a research internship this summer). I was wondering if these programs were worth it financially, personally, and in terms of college admissions.

These programs are for enrichment. They do not help you in college admissions. I have not attended either of these, so I don't know if it's worth the money and time.

A bump is used to pull a thread back up. Threads go down as time passes because of other incoming threads, so to get a thread back on top, just "bump" it up.

I attended NSLC for International Diplomacy this summer at American University, and it was definitely worth the money. It was a little bit difficult for my parents to pull $2k out of nowhere, but the experiences I had there were amazing.

I learned a lot about ID, which has been really useful this year for Model UN and some newspaper articles, and I also got to network with kids around the country, build leadership skill, live in a dorm environment, and just have an awesome time. It really got me used to the idea of college and made me feel a lot more comfortable with leaving home. Also, you can take a course or two at the university if you want to, but it costs extra money. This might help with college admissions.

PM me if you have any questions; I'd be glad to answer.

It won't really help you for college admissions, but I agree with rhombus in saying that it is worth every penny(if you can afford it). It was definitely one of the highlights of my high school career.
