I was considering attending NYLF next summer. I am considering being a doctor, but I have other careers that are a greater possibilities. Is it still worth the money to go and see if a career in medicine is something I would enjoy?

you dont have to devote your entire undergrad to being a doctor, major in whatever you enjoy, just take the pre-med at prepare for the MCATs

I went to NYLF medicine last year in Boston. I know that some people are against this program and say that it is like a scam of whatever, but i would highly recommend the program to you. It gives an excellent perspective of what its like to be a doctor. You get to talk to med students and learn their lifestyles and even shadow doctors. You also meet people who have the same ambitions as you do and it gives you an idea of what lies ahead. I had a great time and would recommend it to anyone.

even if you arent 100 percent sure u want to go into medicine, i absolutely recommend this forum. i attended the med forum in phoenix at the beginning of this summer and im soooooo glad that i did. it was a whole lot of fun and you get to do a lot of things that not many kids get to experience. and the friends that you'll make are absolutely amazing...people from all over the US and even some international. these are peopl you'll remember for the rest of your life. so i strongly encourage you to go to the forum, i think you would have an awesome time!

check it out. gives a bit more insight into what becoming a physician takes. this will tell you exactly what you can expect, going into medicine. it's a lot of work, yes, but the career is fruitful in the long run.

I dont know i you made your decision to attend or not. But if you can still go and havent decided too i would recommend going. I knew i wanted to be a doctor but until i went to NYLF i had no idea what it was going to take. It really motivated me and im sure it would you too. It really motivated me and i met so many amazing people. It was an unforgetable experience.
