Nys resident - chance me please!

I'm debating on whether I should ED to Cornell CALS Applied Economics Mangagement or College of Human Ecology Policy Analysis and Management. Here are my stats:

GPA: 92.75 (unweighted)
ACT: 33 (34 English, 33 Math, 32 Reading, 31 Science)
SAT IIs - Chemistry 760, Math2 score didn't come out yet but it's probably 770-800, Physics score didn't come out yet either but it's probably 750+
APs:
Juniors Year - AP Biology - 4; AP United States History - 4
Senior Year - AP Micro/Macroeconomics, AP Physics B, AP English Literature, AP Calculus AB, not an AP but it's a college class (Linear Algebra & Differential Equations)
**Do APs really matter if they're not a 5? Would it affect me since I don't need to list it on my Common App?

Extracirriculars:
- Senior Intern Leader at American Cancer Society (4 years) - National recognition Pacesetter for the past 3 years (fundraising more than $2500 for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer) over 800+ volunteer hours

Founder and President of American Cancer Society at my school

Treasurer of the Asian Cultural Club

Teller at a Currency Exchange Place junior year

Teacher's Assistant @ an academy since sophomore year

Cross Country & Track

ARISTA

Junior Achievement of NY - Semiquarter Finalist

Recommendations:
Asking my AP Biology and English teacher who I both think will be writing an extremely strong letter for me.

Would I be better off ED-ing to CALS or HE? Feel free to ask me any other questions in order to get a more accurate understanding of my stats/what I do.

THANK YOU EVERYONE!

I’d say you have a decent chance. Your GPA is good, but not great. Your schedule seems rigorous enough. 33 ACT is very good, I believe it’s around the 55-65th percentile for Cornell acceptees (75th Percentile is 34) and your SAT IIs are good, however they have minimal impact in admissions.

As for your extracurriculars, I’m not sure how well your activity with CAncer societies will stand, although it comes off as very dedicated and 800 is certainly a lot of hours.

About a 50% chance Early decision, maybe a bit less or more.

Admit rate for CHE is approx. double that of CAS. I don’t know if individual majors within the college have a significantly lower admit rate.

Would I be better off applying to CALS or HE?

It’s easier to get into PAM over AEM because AEM is a very selective program within CALS (so CALS official acceptance rate is not equal to AEM’s).

@modelgeek282 - Do you think I should apply to PAM instead? My stats aren’t HIGH like others but I guess it’s above average. What do you think?

from what i’ve heard AEM in CALS tends to be more competitive than something like PAM in HE. gpa MIGHT be low for AEM. something that CALS literature says a lot is that they want to see someone whose ec’s are truly geared towards the major he/she is applying to

AEM is harder to get into than PAM. That said, both are relatively easy majors to complete. As always, I advise you to apply to whichever program fits you the best. PAM and AEM are fairly different programs.
