NYS Road Test?

Hi guys,
So I’m a high school graduate and soon to be freshman, yet I still haven’t scheduled my road test and am less than a month away from going to college. This makes me nervous as I completed my Driver Ed course at the beginning of junior year and have only around half a year until the certificates expire. Is there any way that I am able to take my road test during the college semester while avoiding conflicts with schoolwork? I live in New York if that helps.

Yes, but check your local DMV for operating hours. I don’t live in NY, but I was able to just walk in and take my driving test. Including wait time, I was done in around an hour.

If your concern is having conflicts with class, it’ll probably be easier to take the driving test as a college student than as a high school student. There will be a lot more gaps during your day as a college student than as a high school student. The trickiest part is having a car to take the driving test, but if you’re going to school near enough to your home to use a parent’s car or if you have another car you can borrow for the test (and have someone to go with you to take the test), then it shouldn’t be an issue.

Can you schedule it between now and the start of classes?

You have to schedule it online
