NYT: Petition to split SAT into three

Marite,

So, perhaps administer them over 2 weekends. In the grand scheme of things most students do not take more than 2 of these tests a year. Though some type of accomodation should be made for those who take more.

The way it is structured now a student could take 5 tests during the 2 week period and 3 SAT 2 tests on the weekend in the middle. That seems at least as stressful as moving the AP tests to a few weekends. Perhaps embedded within your last post is a solution, administer the tests over a few weekends in June, at the end of the traditional school year (at least here on the east coast).

I would advocate administereing the AP tests in September and December/January. This enables summer study and first semester study for these tests. Right now there are a number of Summer AP study programs and the students have to wait until the following May to take the tests. That does not seem right to me.

honestly, i really wish people would stop complaining about the sat's. if you prepare for it you do fine, no ifs ands or buts. not to mention if you mess up, you can always just retake it. having it on three separate days would make the rooms all the more crowded because instead of having people sign up for three different days, everyone would be going to everyday. just suck it up and take the test.

Offer The Tests During The Summer So The Kids Dont Have To Do Homework Exams Papers And Take Sat's. What Is This A Test To See Who Will Drop First??
