<p>the way i see it is that, if a kid is going to get a "boost" for being an athlete, he had better be a damn good athlete. however, i do think that the 171 acadmic index is a bit low, but i seriously doubt that many athletes in the ivy league would have such a low index.</p>
<p>The few alleged irregularities seemed rather benign on the national scale of college athletics. Front sports-page placement should indicate a real scoop, not just a questionable grocery store conversation and a pickup basketball game. (Might the writer be exhibiting " disappointed parent of non-admit syndrome", or a new strain of "Tufts syndrome"?)</p>
