NYTimes...Financial Need

NYTimes...In Search of Financial Aid

The irony to me is that private schools (of a certain level) provide support to families like this, while the public system doesn't.
The other irony is that wealthy families are subsidized by the UVAs and Berkeleys of the world. I don't understand why state university systems aren't viewed as entitlements for the upper middle class and and above, which of course they are.

Because the upper middle class and above pay for those state universities through their tax dollars.

Low income folks support the state u’s too. The UC’s
are fast becoming a good example of state funded ed
for wealthier students.

Another class warfare thread. Maybe there should be a forum for those that want to argue about the topic and the regular area for actually providing help to those that ask for it.

bceagle It’s an open forum, if you don’t want to post -don’t!

"Low income folks support the state u’s too. The UC’s

Wealthy people pay a higher percentage of the cost of going to these schools than poor people.

All taxpayers support and receive the tuition discount for their public schools - whether they have kids or not. Many wealthy people choose not to send their kids to college there. What does it matter?!
