NYU 2008 Transfer

my stats are 3.08. Yeah, I want to reapply for fall 2008. I know andy4music was able to do it.

hs or college gpa? what college do you go to? sats?

Got my email working this morning.

For whoever asked a few pages back, my stats are on page 15ish.

I’m actually looking for a roommmate now for an off campus (year round) place, so if anyone is interested, throw me a private message. :)

Wait. Can you re-apply for fall 2008? I thought you had to wait another year before applying.

The way it works is that you have to be a rising sophomore, and then if you’re applying to a school and are not accepted, you must call the NYU school that you’re applying to, and request if it is possible to hold your application for review for the following term (a year) rather than fill out a whole new application and send in a fee all over again. Except, that at the time of the new application, you’ll likely have a higher GPA.

Just letting you know icarus, that NYC housing is RIDICULOUSLY expensive, and if you do not get on campus housing at first, you can’t ever get on-campus housing for the rest of your time at NYU. Just be really careful if you were offered housing. Man I’m so psyched! What school did you get accepted to icarus, and how did you get you netid working? And did you get your financial aid along with your acceptance?

Just thought I’d let my future transfers know ;)

I’m pretty frustrated. Applied to five schools, including NYU, for spring transfer. No responses yet. Hope this isn’t a bad sign. “Dropped out” of school at the end of Spring 2007 to work on a few “extracurricular projects.” Need a few options for the spring, dammit.

This is for previous or current transfers, or current students who’d like to share some advice for incoming/current transfers.

Congrats to all of you that got in.

To those of you who got rejected or are still waiting for a response. I know your pain I was waitlisted last year. They just made me anxious for another whole month just to reject me…terrible memories. But I’m doing great at my current college and I made some really good friends so its not the end of the world if you don’t get in.

It’s seriously true. I got turned down by NYU 2 times before I got in. I think they just thought…This kid’s not gonna stop until he’s in, so they gave it to me. hahaha. JK. Seriously, I don’t regret staying in my college for the year and a half that I did. It saved me money, and I made wonderful friends.

thats some damn good determination!

Honestly, I just worked my butt off the time that I was at my current college and never gave up on my dream (cheesy, I know), but it paid off. :)

Hello. I’m also a Spring 2008 Transfer applicant, and even though I have been following the posts on this thread, I haven’t registered or posted until now…but now I have a question that I’m hoping someone can help me with.

So I used my ss# to activate my NetID, and after I created a password, I was able to access NYU Home with an NYU email address.

The thing is, I haven’t received anything from NYU yet. I admit I got pretty excited when I was able to do this, but am I just getting my hopes up for something that may not be certain? Could it be possible that there is just something wrong with the system right now?

If anyone can shed some light on this, I’d really appreciate it. Thank you!

P.S. Congrats to everyone who got in!

You just got in! Congratulations. They allow access to that after they’ve sent out the letters and processed you into the system, which means you should be getting your answer in the next week. Congrats on getting in!

P.S. If you have facebook, look up the group NYU Transfers and join. I’m the administrator.

Thanks for the reply, Andy!

I’m going to hover over my mailbox 24 hours a day until I get some official notification…but at least now I’ll be a lot less nervous while I’m at it.

If (when?) I get a letter, I will definitely create a Facebook and find you guys on there. Thanks again!

hey birdpoop, the same thing happened to me–i have a netID and email, but no letter yet…this better mean we’re in or that’s the meanest joke ever.

if you have two years of college completed, do you need to have a stellar high school record/really good SAT scores? What kind of college GPA would make up for it?

Keepingitsecret - I got my letter today, so I’m sure you’ll be getting yours soon too! Congrats on getting in!
