Do you think i have a chance of getting into gallatins? I’m think I’m getting a 3.6 for midterm grades. Will that help.

sat way too low
try again next year

Did you get into NYU as a transfer applicant? What were your grades like?

no i did not, i never applied. i know however that they will not accept someone with a 1000/1600 on the SAT. jesus christ thats a terrible score to be honest

maxk88 u don’t have to show them ur SAT score if u haver more than 64 credits or Associates degree. please refer to their admission forum.

what is he/she applying as? soph/junior?

I will be applying as a soph.

just wait a year and try again. get enough credits so you dont have to send them your SATs

you still have to send them your SAT score unless you are coming from a two year college where the SAT isn’t required so theyll never know how you did.

Read the posts on the official NYU forums. They said SAT scores and high school grades do not count as much (they still count though!) if the students already have 2 years of college. Considering your GPA is lower than your high school’s, it is not a great idea to have that unless you are expecting 85%+ sure you will get an upward curve spring semester or quarter (depending on your current college).

NYU is known for accepting transfers with lower GPAs in high school (as low as 2.2 in high school). However, none of them (at least 2 I know personally) have a downward curve. I do not think the SAT is a big factor for NYU (NYU had accepted those with low SATs before). I seriously think your downward curve GPA is against you.

Max, I think you should have applied regardless of your SAT score. It is not the only factor for admission.

i never was going to apply to NYU, i was replying to the person above me with the 1000/1600 SAT

Is it really true that you don’t have to send them your SAT if you’ve completed 64 credits?

I can’t find it on their website..

no, you must send them your SATs. its required material

It is required if you have taken them in high school. If you took any SATs in college, then it would not be considered. It’s best if you ask the Admissions officers directly. I believe they have their own forum. Try googling for it or you can call them up directly.

bump Is there anyone else applying for tranfer?

jesus their short answers are so stupid. screw singing a song, i’d bring a piano and play it.

I just completed my application about a week or two ago. hopefully it works out. just have to wait for mid term grades and send those silly guys as well.

also applied to:
BU
UPitt
Vassar

I’m at a community college in the city that has an articulation agreement with NYU.

I applied online as a transfer to Steinhardt for the Communication major.

whatcha think?

my high school career was a MESS.
i graduated in 2003 with 79 average..and no SATs.

thus far:

4.0 GPA with 49 credits, currently taking 15. NYU will accept 60 of my credits!

also, my hubby’s at the law school there… i heard they like NYU couples?

i also explained my unconventional academic journey. after high school i took 3 years off working at a non-profit peace organization and had a “life-changing” experience.

also, for those of you who want to know, i have spoken to a million admissions people at NYU saying SATs are becoming more and more unnecessary for transfers in their sophomore year. they also have assured me that your high school record won’t be detrimental.

wish me luck! let me know of my chances!
