Hey Thanks. I still have fordham too.

yeah, I don’t want to sound immature here, but this is college. these are 4-5 years of life that we can develop our work habits, learn new things, and have fun. (To everyone reading) don’t let these rejections ruin your self esteem or personality. College is an important step, and it may change your life, but in what way none of us know. stay motivated and continue to push for your dreams. Sometimes they don’t come true but if you stay strong, you will surly find something amazing for yourself.

oh, and don’t be so worried about rankings of programs and school names and what not. I understand that none of us want to apply and go to Cheapcrap College or Wrongforme University but there are so many more opportunities in every school, and even more after.

anyway, stay the course, good job to the accepted, and to the rejected LET US STAND TALL!! (too cheesy?)

im a fan of your advice. and a bit cheesy but i love cheesy haha

ob,

I applied in early Feb. I guess that played a factor in my acceptance. I don’t know if I will attend NYU yet, as financial aid is still a big factor. I’ve heard that NYU has a tendency to screw over students with financial aid, so I’m still pretty anxious…

I applied from the University of South Carolina (we supposedly have the # 1 International business program in the country) to Stern.
Pre-reqs could have been the problem. As a freshman, we’re not “encouraged” to take courses like accounting and econ. I imagine that off set my near perfect GPA.

My adviser told me not to take accounting classes my freshman year and hold off till next year. But I was straightforward and told her I wanted to transfer to NYU and they require me to take managerial and financial accounting. So she OKed the accounting classes on my schedule.

I just called them and they said my app is still under review.
and by the way, I applied to Steinhardt.

That would be disappointing if they don’t send out the majority of the decisions until after may 15th.

yeah…and he also said it will take 2~3 days at least and 3 week at most to hear the decision if someone’s app is still under review.

3 week…!!!..

wow trojans. i definitely didn’t know i was going to transfer that early.

I agree with inkofvixx, if I had known I wanted to transfer, I would have taken the courses anyways, but you live and you learn.

I’m actually taking both accounting classes right now. I didn’t know for sure that I was going to transfer until late november/early december. Well anyway, I hope you like whichever school you’re going to next year. Good luck.

Has anyone applying to Stern received an acceptance letter yet? According to this thread, they’ve been sending out rejections at least, but has anyone been accepted?

Is it true that NYU sent their acceptance letters by Fedex? And rejection by mails? If the Fedex part is true, what if no one is home when they deliver it?

ACCEPTED
Stats:
ACT:27
No SAT scores
College GPA: 4.0 after one semester
HS GPA: 3.7

Man I have to say CC helped me more than anything. I had no idea about college admissions before I got on here, and it feels great to have gotten into one of my two target schools. Useful info is abundant in this thread for instance.

Maybe I will see you at NYU!

Elder, What school within NYU did you apply to?

somebody tell me how to check my application status?..I’m applying to Stern, but haven’t heard anything but an ID number from NYU…

Gallatin. I might switch and do CAS cinema studies. I was debating on it a lot, and decided Gallatin was the best fit for me. At my current school (unknown LAC) we were forced into very narrow areas of study, and I hated it more than I have every hated anything. I can not stress how much I hated not being able to take the classes that I wanted. It felt like there were all these interesting classes that were out of my reach. Gallatin also felt “quirky”…plus it’s easier to get into Gallatin, but that was not really a factor in my decision.

Those who got accepted to NYU, can you login to NYUHome login (or activate your login) with your NYU University ID Number?

I don’t think so…
