NYU 2008 Transfer

Did you try it here? https://start2.nyu.edu/ibin/getnetid1.cgi

I have been able to create a NetID ever since I was accepted.

Chocola, I called them last week and was told that I am still under review too. I guess we won’t be hearing until the 15th, or sometime around then.

I wonder if my application is still under review or I’ve been rejected cuz I can’t login :(

No. I got my acceptance letter via US Postal Service; regular mail.

The acceptance letter arrived in a large white envelope with “New York University” printed in the bottom left corner in red hollow letters and a purple NYU return address. Open it up and there’s a purple folder that says “Congratulations,” with several personalized sheets and brochures of information. All of the printed material is on high-quality paper with edge-to-edge printing.

The rejection letter comes in a small regular envelope with one cheap piece of paper.

You’ll know your answer before you open the envelope.

I just spoke to an admissions counselor today who told me that my application has been reviewed once and is going to be reviewed again. Basically, everyone whose application has been reviewed but has not received a decision is on an internal waitlist. The people that get accepted earlier are generally those with better stats and have better chances of getting in. Those on the “internal waitlist” will have their application reviewed and decisions will go out for those anytime between this week to the end of may (according to the lady I spoke to). i feel as though they say end of May or May 15th because they don’t want to give an early date and not have decisions done. From my conversation with her I got the feeling that next week should be a big week for decisions being mailed out.

The log in thing is just a myth. Look at the last NYU thread and you will see this. Don’t worry!

^ thanks! I was getting worried because I heard some people have received something from NYU through Fedex…

Also, in regards to the NYUHome, I am able to create and log in…

According to NYU’s website (their forums) acceptances are only mailed VIA U.S. Postal Service. Where did this fed ex thing come from? You’d really think NYU would spend extra money to mail an acceptance package? I’m no expert, but it doesn’t seem very plausible to me.

Rejected to Stern.. whatever..

We don’t have any acceptances yet for Stern, though. I still think they’re going to stick with what they said.

What did they say about Stern?

prcistani… your 4.0 GPA doesn’t hold much weight because you have only 39 credit hours. Both you and I have been enrolled in our respective colleges since Summer 2006 … the difference you earned only 39 credits whilst I have 86 credit hours… Remember that is a very important factor … the rigour and quantity of courses…

Don’t worry prcistani… I am not trying to belittle you coz Iam waiting for my rejection from Stern as well…

Best of luck!

They’re sending out rejections first and acceptance letters later? Thats odd. Well these finals are definitely taking my mind off NYU, and if they won’t inform us until mid to late may, I’m going to have to buy Grand Theft Auto 4 to keep me busy. Haha.

pcristiani, I’m sorry to hear that!

Are you also applying to Haas? And when did you submit your application and send all the materials?

m.kenien… I have around 70 credits and a 3.92 now.. ECs are OK… HS stuff is not so good and SAT is really bad… good luck to you too…

UCB/NYU dreamer… yes I applied to Haas, waiting for the response in a some hours…

Which app/materials are you talking about ?

Sorry to hear about Stern. Just keep in mind Stern is probably the hardest school to get into so don’t be down. NYU is tough.

Tisch is harder in my opinion. It takes both good scores AND talent to get in there.

I think that philosophy about having a million credit hours is silly. College is about time management, not self destruction - and I’m confident that, as a college, NYU knows that.

pricastina… oops sorry i read the wrong transcript…

Wow! … if ur rejected… i am in line…
