NYU 2008 Transfer

The point is that they can better gauge you based on how many classes you have taken.

Let’s say Ted gets a 3.9 in one semester of college, and Bill gets a solid 3.7 for three semesters. Bill ( is actually the stronger candidate(assuming equal test scores etc) since he has consistently achieved in college. Thats the reason that people with awful HS records wait 2 years usually to transfer-to show a strong consistent academic performance.

** pcristiani ** why didn’t u apply to USC Marshall?

oh! you applied as a junior, pcristiani?

Microeconomics is a prerequisite…their is a probability that he might have been rejected because of this… but again he did take Macro…

OMG!!! I AM F***** NERVOUS NOW!

I have 3.82 with 86 credits… Defo rejection from NYU and Haas

it depends on the quality of the courses you took, I would typically see a accepted junior stern transfer student taking more challenging quantitative courses, such as calc II, and calc III, a science course, proficiency in language, the econ courses, the accounting classes, a stat class, higher level writing courses . Also many of your courses don’t seem to be transferable as course equivalents if you were accepted into stern. I believe if you have about 18 credits, on a semester basis with coursework that i mentioned above with a gpa at 3.8 you should be competitive. Also realize this, if you plan on going to Stern you would probably have to take 18-19 credits on a per semester basis if all your coursework doesn’t transfer, that is if you don’t take summer classes, just to graduate on time.

Just my opinion.

ECON 2000 Markets & Resource Alloc 3.00 A 3.00 3.00 12.00

This is Micro..

Yes I am applying as a Junior.. I will have over 70+ credits

USC Marshall… I really dont know anything about this school to be honest..

Ok, that explains it. I’m a freshman, applying for sophomore status. I was concerned as to how on earth I was supposed to pull that many credits in a year. Guys scared me!

I think all transfer students should realize and accept the fact that they might not graduate on time. I definitely have. No problem for me, though. The next few years will most likely be a horrible time to graduate as a finance major.

good luck pcristiani, i hope you get accepted to the other schools you applied to. Let us know how you do.

epiper: still it shouldn’t be too much of a problem, i saw your profile most of your courses look transferrable.

I’m glad I was able to read pcristiani’s entire life biography thanks to mkenien.

Actually Sach, I was hoping for an overview of the summer of 2005. Disappointed we couldn’t get that included.

FYI: I just got my CAS acceptance via email today! Anyone else thinking of NYU?

^

They sent acceptances by email too?

What?!? Email?? Thats a new one. Also, do you mind posting stats?

god that just makes me even more nervous…
now i’ll tremble while i check my email every day.
GRRREAT!

Well, not technically by email. I received a message from admissions saying that my acceptance packet was sent back to the school because the address they have on file for me is no longer current. (Fortunately I corrected it!).

Here are my stats if you were wondering-

Current School: University of Southern California
Year: Sophomore (Applied for junior standing)
GPA: 3.88
SAT: 2200

has anyone ever been accepted to CAS as a transfer student with below a 3.3 gpa?
