anyone get accepted or rejected from nyu scps

OB we could maybe hear this weekend if what people have said here comes to fruition. If boatloads of decisions are going to be sent out tomorrow, I wouldn’t be surprised if I receive my decision on Saturday maybe. I live in New York, half hour outside of Manhattan. I called them last week and was told my application was still under review. We’ll see what happens, but I’m expecting a rejection.

Everyone, let’s petition NYU for an online transfer system where we can see our decision online rather than waiting senselessly for it!

Whoa. I didn’t even get an ID number…?

I never got an ID till I got my acceptance letter. No emails at all. I was worried, and thought something was wrong for a long while. If you have been accepted the letter has your ID on it, so don’t worry about it.

RacPaime, I agree that NYU needs to go more technological. Geez, even Columbia does theirs that way now. David, those forums on the NYU website are so utterly vague, it’s not even funny. Somebody asks a specific question and they give you this really broad response. Not cool

JC you’re right, I asked a question about midterm grade reports and who gets them versus who doesnt…they never even posted it.

Some questions are answered though. Like the whole UPS vs Fedex thing, I just thought that people saying they got their acceptance via Fedex seemed a little over the top.

^ Actually, I think it might have been financial related stuff like scholarships that NYU has to sent it through Fedex

NYU Decisions are out for CAS so check your emails. It said that over 1800 people applied for only 70 spots. Good luck to everyone!

The first group of decisions for Tisch were sent today by mail and the rest will be sent throughout May on a rolling basis. Do other schools at NYU notify by email as well?

I thought that NYU doesn’t notify you through email…or maybe it’s just Stern. Anyone else heard from Stern yet?

Nothing from Stern in the form of an email. Although I am fairly certain they just sent out more decisions (maybe there will be an acceptance finally instead of all rejections so far).

I hope it will be me
haha

70/1800??? that’s worse than yale!

I’m from California, and I know very little of NYU. I’m also applying for transfer in 09

1st question: what is the avg admit GPA for Econ at NYU?

2nd question: is there different job prospects in CAS or STERN for Econ (i-banking is the key here)

3rd question: do they hate westies?

4th question: Since I’m a transfer student and all my units currently articulate to the UC system in California would it also for NYU? Also a community college student.

It seems this year the admissions process is intense, hopefully next year it lets up a little bit.

Looks like CAS remains as competitive as last year if those numbers are correct (or even lower, I think last year was 6% or something). Stern was 126/1000+ last year so I’m hoping it’s at least that number or hopefully even higher.

ninjastar209, I’m not sure about the avg. GPA but I’m quite sure that you would have better prospects with Stern Econ than CAS, that’s for sure. And if you wanna do i-banking, I definately recommend Stern.
Personally, I don’t think NYU students hate westies…i love them ![]()
As for your units, check with each school what requiremtns they have (Stern has several) and make sure you take the necessary classes.
I think every year gets worse with the competition there… :(

If a good chunk of letters went out from Stern today, I guess we can expect the applicants in the NE to receive their letters around Saturday or Monday. Hopefully you get in Dreamer, but only if you don’t take my spot :D

if NYU CAS letters went out today, its not likely wel recieve them until tomorrow/saturday… and those numbers are downright disgusting. Did u get them from a NYU admissions counselor?

Did anyone else get an offer to do the fall semester in Florence and start in New York during the spring semester for CAS due to lack of space?
