NYU 2008 Transfer

This speculation is getting silly. Guys, we’ve said over and over again that stern is going to take from mid to late may. they told me that over the phone originally and i see no reason to doubt that. we know they do stuff differently.

since all of the decisions we’ve heard so far from stern have been bad ones, let’s be happy we haven’t heard that yet ourselves.

Yeah…I got into Steinhardt comm…!!!
I just received an admission package today..
The postmark is May 6th.

Congrats Chocola. Glad to see you got a spot!

awesome!! Congrats chocola!

You were able to login to your netid before right?

Thanx!..guys:)
Davids123…yeah..I could login to netid before..

You also can receive your admission package soon..:)

Chocola - are you choosing nyu out of all those schools you applied to or are you still undecided?
I’m able to do the netid thing but I’m still nervous because I haven’t recieved the official acceptance letter yet. Nothing takes the weight off your shoulder like that small piece of paper =)

Did you transfer as a jr or soph?

Good luck everyone!

small piece of paper, david?

admissions rule of thumb - the bigger the package, the better the news.
a small piece of paper would ruin my day.

** NYU Updates **

Let’s start with a few words on how we will go about updating the admissions web site for coming year.

The most important thing for you to know is that while there are some important changes for next year (2008-2009), it will take us a while to review our entire site and bring it up to date. As a result, we will not have all of the changes and updates posted for several weeks. Until then, some information on our site will be updated and some will not be changing, but some may be changing even though the change is not yet reflected on the site. Please visit again to be sure that you have the most up-to-date information. When we have everything updated, we’ll post a message to let you know!

What’s new for 2008 - 2009

Here’s a list of what’s definitely new for next year. There are several other items currently under discussion that might later be added to this list, but we are not certain of their status at this time. So, be sure to check back again! We’ll provide additional information on each of these changes on our web pages as our site is updated.

The freshman application deadline for Regular Decision is changing to January 1, 2009 from January 15, 2009. (The freshman Early Decision deadline is not changing; it remains at November 1, 2008.)

Effective this year, NYU will no longer publish our own paper application for admission. We encourage students to apply online, but those who would prefer to use a paper application should use the paper version of the Common Application.

Our policy concerning transfer credit for high school students who are taking college-level courses while in high school is changing. We will no longer grant credit for college courses that also satisfy high school graduation requirements.

We are adding a new bachelor’s degree program in our Arts and Science area - Global Liberal Studies - that will include significant study abroad opportunities.

Our Leonard N. Stern School of Business is adding a new bachelor’s degree program - Business and Political Economy - which will combine courses in business, economics, and politics with three full semesters of global study.

Our popular General Studies Program - our two-year liberal arts curriculum that enables students to seamlessly transition to our four-year programs - has a new name: Liberal Studies Program.

We’re moving! As of June 1, 2008, the new mailing address for the Admissions Processing Center will be:
New York University
Undergraduate Admissions Processing Center
665 Broadway. 11th Floor
New York, NY 10012-2339

Info- very true, very true. I just want to hurry up and get a definitive answer already. All I need to know is big envelope or small envelope.

amen my brotha.

Davids123- No, I haven’t decided which school I am going to cuz am still waiting for some decisions from two schools. If I get rejected from two schools, maybe I go to NYU.

Oh, and I applied to as junior standing.

I think the decision (NYU) had been made on my app around May 1st or 2nd cuz I could login to netid on May 3rd, Saterday.
However, they printed the decision letter for me and organized other admission instrucions on May 6th.
I think they don’t send decision letters immediately after they got decisions from the admission committee. I guess they need some time to evaluate admitted applicants’ transfer credits after decisions have been made cuz I got the sheet of a transfer credit evaluation, too.

when did they tell you the decision has been made on your app??

This is a really good point!!! That explains why I haven’t gotten my letter yet even though the decision was made for sure Monday 5th or even sooner…

UCB/NYU dreamer- yeah..I’m sure you can hear good news soon:)..which school did you apply to??..stern??

yep, stern it is…but i kinda believe the NYUHome theory so i honestly think i’ll get a rejection letter…but you never know, maybe they blocked my access cuz i was trying it too often, haha

they havent made a decision on mine yet.. i just called them

So I just phoned home… I got a big package like envelope waiting for me from nyu!!!

Congratz David!! It’s no suprise as your NYU login worked…but it’s great you have your official acceptance at home!

thanks ucb- hopefully you’ll be recieving one shortly! Everyone here has sure made the wait a bit easier

i called and was told my decision is sent. due to my LOW overall GPA i will be rejected although i had 4.0 for the last two semesters

LastHeadline-I wouldn’t expect a rejection. They may admit you despite your “LOW overall GPA” because you had a 4.0 for the last two semesters.

I wonder how long NYU will take to get back to me after I send in my spring grades.
