i cant login into nyu home. i hope this isnt a sick joke…

Maybe, you are the proof that i’m hoping for that nyu login doesn’t mean anything! but if you received an acceptance in mail, nyu cannot take it back

last, congrats!!! And you were worried =) way to go

See ucb don’t stress the login thing. You got this

haha, yea i know i shouldn’t but the wait is driving me crazy…don’t know what takes so long if i live just in PA. well, tomorrow may be the big decision day…which would be funny if i finally got it because tomorrow is my birthday so i think it would be the best (or the worst) birthday present ever… :)

Let’s make a bet…

rejected — because i cannot login NYU Home
accepted — because i called them on Monday and they said it was sent but i haven’t received it yet so maybe they were working on my credit evaluation, fin.aid etc. as chocola said…

what do you think, guys? :)

bet you’re accepted! If I win I get to walk by one of your classes and throw a piece of paper at you

Just got into Gallatin

Too tired to celebrate. Congrats to everyone who go in. To the people who got rejected, keep your heads up.

Anyone here going to Gallatin next year?
I’ll be a sophmore.

Peace

haha, David, it’s a deal then…i was going to offer to pay for your tuitions if you win, but throwing a piece of paper at me works for me
:)

Thanx!..David:)

congrats!!..last and knicks11..

UCB/NYU dreamer…dont worried:)…I’m sure you are accepted…Stern is the most latest college to send decisions among other NYU colleges.

I still have not recieved my decision yet. =( Should i try contacting them? or should i just wait? ahh.

you should wait until end of may

Which school is easier to get into? Gallatin or Steinhardt? I go to a pretty decent college now with a good name, but I hate it and I want to transfer to NYU. I’m a freshman now and I think i’m going to apply in April of sophomore year, but I’m not sure if i’m going to just try to apply for Spring semester.

Reading all these pages of people getting in with not the most amazing numbers gives me hope, but I definitely want to know which school is the easiest?

cherrybomb- When I spoke with a NYU admission counselor last year, she said the acceptance rates of Steinhardt and Gallatin are usually similar.

oh..and guys
did you already join NYU transfer group on facebook??

chocola - I joined it

Let me give you my thoughts on which is easier between Gallatin and Steinhardt. I think that Gallatin is just much more odd in their decisions. They are looking for a certain kind of student, and unless you are that kind of student they will most likely reject you. The good news is that it is easy to tailor ones application so that you appear as such as student, even if you are not. Come up with a concentration, and write the optional essay to explain it to the adcoms. If you have decent numbers, and your concentration is good then you will get into Gallatin in my opinion. For Steinhardt it is more numbers based than CAS, unless you are doing a music thing where it is similar (though not nearly as selective) as Tisch. So if you just want to get into NYU I recommend tailoring a Gallatin application. It is not that hard to switch between Gallatin, CAS, and Steinhardt anyway.

Note that if you take the Gallatin route, make sure your application has a unique concentration that makes sense with ECs to back it up. If you want to major in “Business Ethics,” but your past major, ecs, jobs, and recs are all chemistry-related per se, they will see through it.

FYI, external transfers can’t change schools for a year. They also know that you’re an external trasnfer when applying for internal transfer so that can work against you in addition to losing your GPA, taking on a whole new set of requirements, etc.

It looks like almost everyone got into Steinhardt communications this year btw.

since there’s so much confusion,
what’s the overall opinion: to try NYUhome or not?

No, do not try it.

** NYU Stern Rejected **

Community College (FL)
GPA - 3.73 ( 80 cr. completed & 16 in progress)
All pre-req completed
Major: Accounting/Actuarial Science

If there is even 0.0000001% chance of hurting your application decision by trying to use NetID, I would think carefully before doing that. In fact, I really want to do the same thing, but I know that NYU admission people posted a message here, on CC, asking not to use it, so I’ll just wait. Even if you get to create the NetID, still you wouldn’t be 100% sure that you are admitted until you get official acceptance letter. Conclusion: why bother?
