NYU 2008 Transfer

btwn , congrats!

I’m not entirely sure if netid equals admissions, so don’t consider these stats to be your main reference point (I am a freshman, btw, so I would be entering my sophomore year):

3.6/3.7 college GPA (but received A’s under two graduate courses I was placed in)

this semester:

SOCY325
GVPT424
GVPT848A (grad)
MATH745 (grad)
CMLT335
ARHU106

1460 SAT

EC’s: founded/run online LLC, written two books that are currently in the process of publication (harvard university press for one, princeton UP for the other), piano lessons since kindergarten, played soccer for odp national league, working on three other manuscripts. Other than that, I basically spent the last semester playing guitar hero and GTA IV. Oh, and I occasionally submit articles to my school’s main newspaper.

Also, they didn’t have my high school manuscript until two fridays ago, so I have no idea what was going on with that. I’m probably not the best case-study to go by, as, again, I am not sure if I am “officially” in. Still, I am hoping that the netid login ability correlates to “accepted.” We shall see, I suppose. What about you serenity? Still waiting?

on the wait list.

For which school/program?

I applied to Gallatin.

Well keep me posted–it’s always nice to meet people prior to arriving.

Anyone have any definitive answer as to the netid situation, btw? It seems like those who have been admitted are consistently able to use it…

wmplax i bet my Bulgarian international passport that you are accepted. The nyu id thing is a 100% prove that you are accepted. You can start calibrating with the guitar. Congrats

Thanks mate–and what’s your status? You from Bulgaria?

Yes I am international student from Bulgaria. Right now i am attending a community college in CA. I applied to Stern as a transfer student, but i thing as an international student i have less chance. Who knows we will see. I am still waiting :)

Well good luck, man–hope everything turns out well.

Thank you, i will let you guys know

Well I am in at Gallatin, buy may not go. So you might get my spot.

eldercookies..you decided not to go to NYU, which school are you planning to go??

I might go to Tulane because they gave me a lot of $$$$$$$, and I think it might be better to get a normal bachelors degree.

So I finally reached them in the office and they told me the decision over the phone…rejected from Stern :(

UCB/NYU dreamer - don’t worry. I got rejected from Stern as well. I hope the whole Stern building gets razed to the ground lol!

haha, yea, we can just wish. I wonder what’s so special about the others who got accepted to stern and took my spot…rrrr…i dont take rejection well…but life moves on

Sorry to hear that UCB/NYU. I’ll probably be getting my rejection pretty soon also.

Waitlisted… does any know if they reconsider waitlisted students after june first, or is it just by luck of the draw on how many spots open up? I ask because they want me to send in my Spring grades when I finish, but they’re not exactly the best because I’ve been slacking off a bit. Just wondering if its possible to be rejected after I send in my spring grades because they were not up to par.
(My grades aren’t terrible… probably going to be like 3.2-3.4 this semester, but just kinda bad compared to what I’ve been getting)
