NYU 2008 Transfer

im the same case ermidnite, but they didnt officially ask to send in my grades.. kinda like “if u want, thats all u can do” when i called them over the phone..

i wonder what else we can do.. is it gonna be just like a lottery draw for spots?

Ermidnite and Blackholezz–what are your stats?

really bad.. im pretty surprised i got a shot.. lol

sat’s 1840, college gpa 3.6.. and im in the business school but i applied for psych major. i wanted to focus on psych more.. anyway.. umm my extra curriculars i guess made up for it coz i was really active with orgs, established one for minorities and worked with the dean on a proposal. oh and im senator at large in sga .. and a few other committees..

i just wanna get out so bad though despite being already “made” in my school.. as they say..

Yeah they said something about having complete information or whatever… the feeling I get for it is that it doesn’t really change anything though. I think if there are spots left then we get in, and that’s it. I don’t know how many students they waitlist though… wonder what our chances are?

My stats:
3.7-3.8ish… not too sure, forgot
EC: an internship or two… nothing crazy
Essays: very good
Major: Econ

anything I missed?

Oh yeah SAT: 2140, SAT2: Physics - 780, Math level 2 - 800, Bio - 680
Six AP’s during high school… some other random stuff from high school

if there are spots and the waitlist is designed as 1. 2. 3..
ermidnite will definitely be chosen before me. lol

And what schools/programs were you two looking for?

well, i can log into NYUhome now.

Congrats, inko–you’re in. Which school you heading to?

psych, CAS. i shouldve gone with steinhardt

Hah that’s what I was wondering… if the waitlist is already designated in order of acceptance. Shrug… we’ll see I guess. I hate all this waiting!

stern, stern, stern. i’m still wary - not overly confident about an acceptance. but i couldn’t log in last night, and i can tonight, so i’m extremely excited.

inko were you waitlisted? where’s the link for nyu home? thanks :)

Yeah, Inko: general rule has been those who can log in to nyu netid are admitted. They only create netid’s–and @nyu.edu emails–for nyu students. So, don’t sweat it; looks like you’re going to stern. Have any housing plans? You can check a lot of good housing options with your netid, believe it or not–its a pretty good system.

haha blackholezz, i still haven’t gotten an official letter. home.nyu.edu - but try it at your own risk. no housing plans yet WMplax. I heard housing is the pits for transfer students. i won’t worry bout that til i get my package…fingers crossed…

dude you’re soooo in!!! CONGRATS!!! umm why dont you just call them instead? lol

I hope the whole NYU campus gets razed to the ground and Stern admin counsellors get crushed. lol! No i don’t literally mean it.

inkofvixx…congrats!!!:)..You’re in definitely!!..

yeppp ur in. I got my decision over the phone and then logged in and it worked fine. I was able to create an email address for myself and everything. Congrats!

Yo xfer, which school you into?

Just received formal confirmation via the phone; I’m in to gallatin. Also, I confirmed with an admissions councelor that, though they don’t recommend that you try it, being given a nyu netid means positive admission. So, congrats again inko–you are definitely in.
