NYU 2008 Transfer

wmplax..im from Korea..

sashie15…I applied for foreign affairs at UVA.

NYU is my dream school and i really wanna go there cuz the location is awesome and i like private schools, but i have to think about the cost of attendance at an undergrad cuz i’ll plan to go to a lawschool after i graduate from an undergrad.

NYU is also my dream school. Even if i do get accepted, the price might keep me out. All I can do is hope for the best…

wow i was starting to get nervous for a minute when everyone else was hearing back and i wasn’t! but yea, i just got accepted to Steinhardt! get excited. anyone else transferring to Steinhart?

For those of you who got accepted and applied for financial aid, how much scholarships did NYU give you?

trb5063..congrats!..i also got accepted steinhardt..

haha chocola, you have the most ellipses per square inch than any other poster on the forum, i do believe.

Double ellipses.. nice.. I use them when texting mostly to sound whimsical without the commitment of triple ellipses..

chocola, im still deciding about transferring too… the thing that is keeping me is the $ (of course) but also, in the timeframe that I was waiting to hear back from NYU, I changed my major and I am now in Kinesiology (movement science.. possibly leading to a career in physical therapy). So I was thinking that I could double major in Comm and then make a Gallatin Major in Movement Science as well. Do any of you guys know if you are allowed to do something like this? (or even if you are allowed to double major at all if you transfer into a different school)???

trb–you can’t make a Gallatin major unless you are in Gallatin. I’m sure you can double major, but you have to do so in your college (Gallatin is the only school where you can take classes in other colleges within NYU).

Anyboy has heard back from CAS? Do they release the decisions all together or do the batch thing?

Anybody has heard back from CAS? Do they release the decisions all together or do the batch thing?

The Admissions Committee will begin notifying transfer applicants of our decision in early to mid-May. Notification will continue on a rolling basis after the end of May. This means that once a decision has been reached on your application you will be notified of that decision. Notification letters are provided by US Postal Service only. We do not notify applicants by e-mail, the internet, or over the telephone.

Our Admissions Committee is certainly mindful of the timeliness of transfer applicants receiving their decisions. However, all of our transfer applicants are in the same situation with regards to notification. We do not make special accomodations for notification of some transfer applicants and not others. Again, the Admissions Committee will notify you once a decision has been made on your application. You are certainly free to withdraw your application from consideration at any point in time.

yikes. that’s a pretty hardcore comment from admissions. However, haven’t people said that they received admissions over the phone?

i guess it’s like other colleges that the admissions don’t release any information until the decision letter is mailed… those who got notified over the phone probably already had the postal mail on its way.

Accepted to CAS, 30 minutes after getting my rejection from Columbia. =D

Hi
I am an international student and I have just started find colleges that I could transfer to next year. I wanted to know if international transfer students are elibible for aid at NYU?? and how good is the bio dpt?? what is strongest or say the most popular program at NYU??

cripes. i’m leaving the country on monday for a month. i donno what i’m gonna do.

financial aid is available for international students, but it’s NOT yet need-blind.

why not just assume you are accepted, and then enjoy your trip.
