I had trouble activating my NetID also, but this afternoon it started working!

thanks ckm–and congratulations to potential (I’d feel a lot better seeing that acceptance package) fellow Stern acceptees.

Have you guys been able to check your financial aid? I’m having difficulty and I’m wondering if it’s possible to check right now.

accepted

to stern! so excited! if you can log in to Net Id you are golden.

congrats to everyone who was accepted :)

nice AKP!

what were your stats?

So does anyone know anything about housing? Where do transfers usually live, how do they get roommates, do they usually get housing or no?

Anything could help!!

A housing deposit of 1000$ is due June 2nd. Housing is guaranteed if you get your housing application (available on NYUhome) and send in the money by that date. Hurry up!

I heard water street dorms were the best ones transfers can get, but its all the way downtown (all the other ones are also pretty far from washington square though). Congrats to everybody accepted, and to people who weren’t keep your head up; I’m sure you will do well wherever you end up.

I can login to NYUhome, but I’m sort of apprehensive. There seems to be a lot of (too many) Stern acceptances on this thread when it’s only 95 out of 1200 overall. What if admissions changed their NYUhome practices?

Anyone on wait list at Gallatin get in?

Easy-- nyuid login is admission, period. Also, I wouldn’t be surprised if a high percentage of kids from this forum are admitted–after all, it takes some initiatve/desire to attend to both read and post to a random college forum, which I think in turn means that this forum probably represents a higher percentage of driven students than would your average sampling of applicants. So, main point, you’re in. Congrats.

Anyone knows the fax No. of undergraduate admissions?
Are there different ones for CAS and Stern?

Do you guys know if my GPA from a UC will transfer to Stern and generally speaking, how good are they at accepting credits? Thanks

I asked about the deadline of housing by email and they said:

Hello..

After you send your deposits to Admissions (the $500 for tuition and the
$300 for housing) they will upload your information into our system and
then you will be emailed about the application process. Generally, the
deadline to submit both your online application and your $1,000 housing
deposit is June the 2nd. **However, if you were just recently admitted you
may have slightly different deadlines, again, follow the instructions when
you receive the email detailing what you need to do next. The online
application is done through your NYU Home account and admissions will be
setting that up for you after they receive your deposit.

The housing assignments are not made on a first come, first serve basis -
they are made by a lottery process so as long as you meet your deadlines,
you have just as much of a chance to get into whatever dorm you wish as
anyone else. Feel free to contact our office with any further questions
or concerns.
Thank you,

I think you don’t need to worry about the deadline if you want to live in a dorm.

hey chocola, what e-mail address did you ask the question to? Thanks.

ckm–I was wandering the same thing. I think a lot of schools basically re-start your GPA when you matriculate (after all, it doesn’t make intuitive sense for your GPA to follow from one institution to the next), but your previous classes and your previous grades will show up on your report card. If you are applying to grad school, most places ask you to send a transcript from each school you have attended; still, if you screw up your first year at one institution, transfer to NYU, and proceed to do really well, then your grades for your freshman year won’t matter. Hope this helps…

not yet. Did anyone from other schools get off the wait list yet?

Got my acceptance package today. Is there any sort of orientation for us transfer students?

Easy, are you from the west coast or east coast?

East Coast
