I called and asked about my financial aid package today. I’m pretty disappointed. Really have to reconsider attending now.

i accessed my financial aid package online but apparently they can’t confirm that i am a citizen. that always happens to me and is really frustrating. has anyone else received a financial aid package? How substantial is the amount being offered? I hope it’s not terrible for any of you

Hey has anyone gone to the pre-registration orientation thing already?

I can’t access the financial information online. When I try to get my PIN emailed to me, an error message comes up saying, “Your email address is unknown. PIN not sent. Contact your financial aid office.” Ugh.

anybody know the date when the orientation starts?

I tried to access my NETID, but it did not work. Does that mean i am rejected? I was put on the wait list, and they said decisions would be out starting June 1st.

Not necessarily. I would recommend not to check the netID thing because it doesn’t really tell you anything. If it doesn’t work, it doesn’t necesssarily mean that you are rejected and it is just going to stress you out (possibly over nothing). The only reason why I checked is because Sally Blount-Lyon e-mailed me telling me pretty much that I was in. Good luck and just try to be patient.

how is financial aid looking for everyone that got accepted?

Is orientation different based on the school you got into? I am very confused because some people are saying that they need to pick a week, but i though it was aug 25-29!??

ckm: You sure Dean Bount-Lyon emailed you? I am pretty sure she is no way involved with admissions.

All right, 100 pages. Rock on.

Gwenneth–yes, orientation is different for each school. I was at the Gallatin orientation yesterday; I am not sure if other schools have an “extra” orientation, as it seems that Gallatin’s policies are unique enough that it does warrant some extra attention. Stern’s policies seem pretty cut-and-dry, the sort that only needs a single explanation–still, I would just check to see if you need to attend anything else beside the August orientation (which everyone has to attend anyway, included Gallatin kids).

The letter I got from Stern said orientation was in august.

Does anybody know if there is a facebook group for finding roommates at NYU?

transfernow: Yes I am sure because a family friend of mine asked her to inquire about my status, whom she is also friends with.

anyone waitlisted? did you hear anything yet??

I am wait listed, but did not hear anything yet. I think we should hear something soon.

oh goddddddd i wanna getin

hi, guys. i really need your suggestions here. i was admitted to stern, do you think it still worth it to wait for northwestern?

I think it’s worth the weight just to keep your options open, but I would still go to Stern over Northwestern.

Then again, I’m attending Stern in the fall, so perhaps I’m biased (although there’s another reason for you to attend Stern).

I got waitlisted at stern =

If I was waitlisted at Stern I would have lied, and said I was accepted, and then tried to convince that guy to go to Northwestern. Gotta game the system in the business world.
