@DenNuggs4life I’m studying sociology. I’m adding a political science as a double major later on.
I’m just worried that I won’t get the same attention from professors that I would at a smaller liberal arts college like Smith. And I’m also worried that I won’t make any friends because I heard people are very disconnected from one another at NYU.
Should we just go ahead and enroll in classes or wait for our advisor to email us?
You can’t enroll until you meet with an advisor (they put a hold on your account if you haven’t met with one) so maybe call and ask when you will be contacted by one.
What language is everyone thinking of taking. At least for those of you at CAS given that it’s a core requirement (unless you plan to take the proficiency exam that is)
German
Do you know if there is an orientation for us spring transfers?
Do spring transfers get an acceptance package in the mail? Anyone get one?
Did anyone register for classes yet???
@tsunamiii786 i don’t think so??
how competitive is NYU for hard physical sciences?
kind of considering it but i know it’s super expensive. do they provide any need based aid?
Anybody hear from advisement to register yet ?
Orientation is January 20th for transfers
@tsunamiii786 I received the acceptance online on Dec 9th and just got the snail mail today.
Do you guys know if Paul McGhee division is easier to get in? I don’t know if it comes automatically on the rejection letter, but NYU advised me to apply to Paul McGhee division of NYU
It’s a school of professional studies… many people from community colleges and people who are working but didn’t complete a university get in…
I think it’s pretty easy to get in. The Paul McGhee program is mostly for working adults and they offer night classes and stuff to accommodate their student’s schedules. To be honest you would be better off going to another college and getting a better degree. It comes automatically on the rejection letter
I got rejected for spring 2017 so im applying through the paul mcghee division now. I plan on going there and doing an internal transfer to CAS or Tandon. You can do an internal transfer as long as you complete one semester in the paul mcghee division and keep your gpa up
@tsunamiii786 what term are you applying for?
And what major?
Are you sure about that? Bc when I called to ask about it as a back up I wasn’t given that information about being allowed to transfer in. Good luck though I hope it works out for you guys
