NYU 2022

I applied ED1 and my school automatically sent mid semester grades even though NYU didn’t require them. NYU downloaded the grades, so if yours are good, I would send them.

@misingthebeach hmm ok. My grades weren’t bad but they weren’t good. I got an A In ap physics c, ap micro economics, ap gov, and regular english, but I got a B in AP calc AB. My weighted gpa went up from a 4.26 to a 4.3 and my class rank stayed at 7/500. But my unweighted went from a 4.0 to a 3.96 and I dropped from 1/500 class rank to 28/500. So which class rank will they use, and what would you do

@daththiccboi I would send them if I were in your shoes. NYU wants to make sure you are taking challenging classes and doing well during senior year, and you certainly are.

I just found out my class rank went down today :frowning: I was 2/38 but now I’m 3/36 (had a few drop out). My gpa for that semester was a weighted 4.45 and it raised my overall weighted gpa to a 4.11 (from 4.06). I’m still in the top 10%, but do you guys think this will look bad?

Probabaly not, but do you know if they use your weighted or unweighted class rank

@daththiccboi I’m pretty sure it’s weighted? Everything is weighted at my school-even A+'s are counted as 4.33 instead of just 4.0. So I’d think they’d use weighted? I’ll check with my academic advisor though.

I got the highest gpa (for a semester) I ever had and I dropped in class rank…figures. :frowning:

@kuhlm44937 I wouldn’t worry. All of your stats were, and remain, highly competitive.

Has anyone heard back from HEOP I’d you applied early decision 2?

@kuhlm44937 OK cool. I was just asking because we have weighted and non weighted and I don’t know which one NYU will use because one is significantly better than the other for me

Has anyone filled out the “Why I applied to NYU” survey?

Hi I am an ED1 admitted student, and I found out my admissions decision a week/two early - I was in! Here is how:

Sign up for FedEx shipment notifications that are sent to you! I got an email from them saying a shipment was out for me from New York, and I thought “I didn’t order anything”. I typed in the address and saw that it was the address for the NYU mailing center so I was SHOOK.

3 days after I found out the good news my admissions packet arrived!

Good luck everyone :slight_smile:

@rahinkumar WOW!
