NYU 2022

@mecce1 dont worry about it too much. what you see or dont see doesnt correlate with your admission’s decision

– Waiting…

Saw this on nyu home under profile:

Nothing to see here (yet!)
You do not yet have a Profile in NYU Home, but don’t worry, you will soon. You’re probably seeing this because you’re an incoming student who’s using NYU Home or an Alumni. We do not load profiles for students until they are matriculated. In case of Alumni, please continue to use Alumni information system (Advance). In the meantime, any NYU community member, like yourself, can use the Services and People tabs of NYU Home. If you’re not an incoming student or an Alumni, then you may be receiving this message in error. Please contact the NYU IT Service Desk.

Does anyone else see this?

@nyudream2221 yup, that’s on everyone’s.

@ilovebooks123 I believe Gallatin is one of the easier schools to be accepted to. I know CAS is competitive and one of the harder schools to get into. I applied to gallatin as my second choice as well, but really want my first choice (Steinhardt)

@cnc4599 I chose Gallatin as my second choice as well! Did you mention it in your essay? I didn’t even think to.

@kuhlm44937 ahh that’s crazy! And no I didn’t cuz I’m really set on Steinhardt and wanted to show them that was my first choice and that although I am interested in NYU, I only really wanna be in MCC at Steinhardt (I’m bad at explaining my logic haha I hope that made sense)

I put CAS economics as my first, but then tandon as my second… am i screwed

@cnc4599 I totally understand what you mean! I was considering Gallitin for a while before I learned of the mcc major, so I’d be happy either way. I’m just praying for any acceptance of some sort at this point lol :))

:((((((

@helpasap123 what are your stats? Essays and ecs? If they are related to your intended major that helps a lot! And you never know with either of those schools. I’ve seen people with 29 ACT and low GPAs get into both those schools while people with 36 ACT get rejected or waitlisted. It’s so hard to know what they are looking for, so don’t feel discouraged!

@cnc4599 i have a low 1400 SAT with a 770 in math and my NYU essay was about economics mostly… i picked engineering cuz that is my second choice major but i related my essay mainly on economics.

Does anyone know what Stern’s acceptance rate is around? I had no idea how competitive it was and now I’m extremely worried

@mxrxsxa Don’t quote me on this, but I was informed by someone recently that Stern RD acceptance rate is less than 5%. Not sure if it’s true. Regardless, Stern is very competitive.

I read that this year NYU had over 75,000 applicants. Not sure if that’s just for CAS or the undergraduate university in general but that is pretty crazy. Last year acceptance rate was 27% of 67,000 applicants… approximately 18,000 accepted. If it is true that there were over 75,000 applicants this year, assuming they accept the same number of students, that would leave this year’s overall acceptance rate at 24%.

@helpasap123 low 1400 is normal for NYU so I wouldn’t stress about that. As for your essay, I think it’s good u focused on economics, and it helps u have such a high math score. Good luck to you!

@mxrxsxa I also heard that the acceptance rate is around 5%

@musicandscience I hope the acceptance rate doesn’t go down again, I mean it could but that would mean less of us getting in  if it stays at 27% roughly 20,000 of us will get in.

Did anyone who applied to Tisch get a housing change?

@MrElonMusk @cnc4599 that’s what I heard too but I was hoping it would be wrong… yikes haha
