NYU 2024

Hi everyone! I was having some trouble deciding if I should apply to NYU RD for 2024. My UW GPA is 3.84 but my W is 4.59. My SAT is a 1290, way below average, but I had a huge difficulty during March of my junior year. My dad passed away and it was over a six month period. Will they take that into account when looking at my grades and SAT scores? I also have taken college courses and have worked with my city to help lessen my senior expenses since my mom didn’t work for that time. Thanks for all the help!

I was thinking of applying to LSC and transferring to Silver School of Social Work btw.

Do you perhaps have a required breadth of APs that you could use instead of SAT for the standardized test score component?

Make sure your guidance counselor is aware of the issues around your dad’s passing and includes it in his/her rec letter, so that NYU will be aware of that.

I do but they’re not as strong. I have AP Lang, chem and bio but I got 2 2’s and one 3. I’ve taken more college courses to compensate but the tests part is very weak.

Does anyone know if my application is submitted today but my dual enrollment college transcript doesn’t go out until they are back from break, will that keep them from accepting my application? Will that make it officially late since all documents weren’t in? All of the rest is complete, and they even received an “in progress“ transcript from the University where I am doing the Dual enrollment but the final one won’t make it there until next week.

@imogenr it should be fine. I seem to recall they give you a couple of weeks’ grace to get the supporting documents all sent in. The key is that the application itself is in on time.

This waiting is brutal!! Sounds like we won’t hear till last minute which makes it hard to plan a trip cross country for spring break! Can’t really afford to just go for the heck of it!

where do you guys see a housing portal
