NYU Abu Dhabi Supplement Essay for class for 2021

Hi all! I’m considering NYU Abu Dhabi for early decision, but I’m confused about the supplement essay.
On the admissions blog, the update says that NYU no longer requires supplement essay, but on the common app it has the supplement question. Does this mean it is optional?
I also found the 2009 admission portfolio of NYU Abu Dhabi, and it had four different questions, but on the common app, it had only one general “Why NYU?” as topic.

Can anyone clarify the specific essay supplement for NYU abu dhabi?

The blog tells everything: it is NOT REQUIRED, but you can still submit it as an optional essay. I highly recommend you write one! And I think you should follow the common app because the portfolio you are looking at was 7 years ago. Good luck!
