@murtaza101
what did you do the whole year?
and why didnt you go to any university there just in order to have some experience of university life?

wellâŠPPLZâŠiâv got another piece of news.

the representative of NYUAD AISA just posted thatâŠ

The deadline for ED2 & RD would be âŠ

Jan.1st.

so so so so so so soâŠ

Thatâs âŠdont know what to sayâŠ

@Reconquista: may I knowâŠwhere u r from?

@Reconquista ====== It was on the official website, wasnât?
@silkysilky23 ======= China

@NewYorkUAD â Iâve been repeating some of my tests like SATs and gave some more tests, and did some more extracurriculars. Basically, Iâve been improving my application.
@Reconquista â the deadlines were posted before, so itâs quite obvious. :P

@NewYorkUAD â I already couldnât apply abroad before, and about local colleges, they donât offer much scholarships/aid and my parents couldnât afford the prices here, so I had to take a gap year.

if I dont manage to get to NUYAD this year, may I study in local university then apply the next year again? (not transfer, like a freshman)
and will it somehow affect my application? to the better or worse?

Should I mension about my local mini business in my application?

@ newyork uad

www.kik.kz <---------wut i wuld jus like 2 sayâŠdat makes me lmao. XD
ndâŠi wanna say datâŠas a matter of fact⊠i hella hate ipod! (jus kiddin)

ahahahahahahahaha.

btw,dude ,where ya from then?

@NewYorkUAD â If you study in local university, you can still apply to NYUAD next year, but only as freshman. And about your business, yh definitely you can mention, it will boost your app.
P.S â I second Reconquistaâs request, where ya from?

Hey guys, does anyone know if the degrees that NYUAD offers will be recognized around the world? Because some places wonât recognize degrees if they have been granted in the middle east⊠i just thought of it and Iâd be so dissapointed if that were the case

I have read contrasting evidence to this, but apparently the degrees are NYU degrees (i.e. not NYUAD) degrees. Though, to be fair, when you submit it in your CV you will have to mention you were in the NYUAD campus. But the key point is, the actual DEGREE is accredited by the US, so you should have no worries there

About the degrees, although the final degrees we get would be accredited as from âNYUâ but our respective majors wonât have the same standard of accreditation, for example, if you study in say Engineering in NYU-Poly, the degree you get there is both NYU and ABET accredited, however studying Engineering in NYUAD wonât have an ABET accreditation and itâll only have the NYU accreditation tag so on par, it wonât be recognized with the same standard.

That also goes for Economics as well for example, say majoring in Economics from NYUAD would recognize your degree as from NYU, but itâll not have the same standard mark that you wouldâve got if you had studied Economics from the NYU Stern School of Business (which is highly renown for Economics)

I hope what Iâm saying is understandable.

Really, are you sure? I would have thought that the academic standards for admission to NYUAD would be much higher than NYU NY and so it wouldnât be worth any less⊠and I would also have thought that you would spend a semester or two in New York (for example) if you were studying Economics and that the idea of a Global Network University means that all the branches of NYU, be it wherever, contribute the same towards your NYU degree.

@Kiwikid â I know that academic standard and admission to NYUAD is very high and hard, and even if we spend a semester or two in NYUNY, the final degree that weâd get would have NYUAD per name but the standards of a particular major from a certain NYUNY program wonât be carried onto our degree.

AHHHHH! Still no invitation!

MaybeâŠthe admission officer jus recognized thatâŠI might not be able to adapt myself to the scorching weather in UAEâŠLOL.

The weather in UAE is pretty normal for me, it does get hot at certain times, especially during summer, but apart from that for most of the year, the weather is pretty much okay :)

ppl do you know other universities offering full ride?

@NewYorkUAD â I heard this but apparently, all people in NYUAD havenât got a full ride, I asked the admissions officer during an info session, she said that around some 25%-30% of people have got a full ride, while 5% of people are affording NYUAD themselves (theyâre probably the Emiratis), the rest of people enrolled had to give some family contribution with some part being covered by the scholarship, thatâs what she said.

hey guys,
have any of you, who are Candidate Weekend II participants, already been contacted by the travel agency?
