@silkysilky23 You can send in your essay additionally (using the Additional Information Section) using a different variant of the common app. Once you’ve submitted it, you can revert back to the old variant of your app so that you don’t send the essay to all the other schools you are applying to.

@AudreyH: first of all, thanks for the help! but, I didn’t quite get tht…could u please elaborate a bit more?
Secondly, are you an applicant too?

@silkysilky23

No I’m not applying to NYUAD. I have applied EDI to NYU-Stern but I won’t be getting in.

On your common app, you can create an alternate version (this is usually done when students want to rectify errors in their essays by uploading a corrected version - colleges will not see that you are sending in an alternate version) of your application. When you do this, you can upload the essay that you wish to submit additionally under the Additional Information section under the Writing section. You can then send this alternate application to NYU; and once you have done so, you can remove the essay (i’m not sure if you have to create a second alternate version or if you can revert to your original application version) so that it doesn’t send to all the other schools you wish to apply to.

I hope this helps a bit - i’m not sure its very clear but if you google a bit more into the alternate version thing, you will understand. Good luck!

@AudreyH: oh, wow!..thanks a lot for the info!..I really wasn’t aware of this!
Thank you so much! ![]()
anyways, is this what you did as well?

@silkysilky23 You’re welcome. No I didn’t do this but I know its possible. Good luck with NYUAD :)

thanks for ur wishes! I do need them! ![]()
and yep, good luck to u too, for Stern! :)

has anybody more got the inv?

I don’t think so, if they had, they’d have been notified by now

no longer possible for dec. cw.
nd, aint gonna dream for the jan. cw or feb. cw

still have a long way to go.
think that am gonna hook up wiv another school. lol

well, it is a great loss for NYUAD not to offer me an invitation.

Dum spiro spero. at least someone’s gonna take me.
Congito, ergo sum. Am dreaming about sumthing else.

Pplz, have a nice day.

=D

@Reconquista — I understand and I agree with you. Life is something where you should better move on and create another opportunity when things don’t go the way you want. I wish you the best of luck though with your other universities, so where else have you applied? :)

hey. I am new here. I also applied to NYUAD and I also still didnt get my invitation for CW. However I found out that they lost part of my application (dont ask me how is it possible). Did you check status of your application on the website to which acces they gave us? Mine was “incomplete”… the AD officer said that it was their fault so it wont influence my app but they have already sent all the invitations for dec, right?

Depending on what part was lost, it wouldn’t matter too much - all the parts tend to confirm and affirm each other anyway.

well, they lost my school transcript and they thought that I have to write SAT (instead I gave my IB pred)

They LOST your transcript? DoubleU-Tee-Eff!

LOL. my albert app account still shows that they have not received my transcript yet but, the admission officer has already confirmed me that the transcript had arrived nd everything ok ok ok ok ok…so chill…if it were their fault that has ‘killed’ ur invitation to dec cw, then dont worry. jus chill.

@ MURTAZA well…i’m applying to bunches of lacs… eg. wheaton college, university of richmond, barnard college etc.

To those who still have not received the invitation:

There is an old Chinese saying : Don’t miss the whole forest because of a tree.

Well…the whole application process is just somewhat like a person searching / trying to hook up with someone…
I’d like to say that now we are applying to NYUAD, we have a crush on her.
But…if we got refused, I think that there’s nothin to do wiv our academic abilities or sumthin else but with the word ‘crush’.
They might not love us when we first meet. Our…we are not in her typo!
But anyway…there must be someone who would love us at the first sight.

And now I no longer consider my not being invited to cw as one of the greatest miseries in my life. I have just realized that a very nerdy or ‘medieval’ academic atmosphere might ‘nurture’ me well…kinda like Universita di Bologna…

well… just wait nd see…

Hyv

@Reconquista === u r right, and the colleges u r applying are also not bad ones, if u get full rides from them, that will be cool. =)

hey people!

I am just kinda confused regarding something…I know I shouldn’t be bothering about this, but still I am just so curious to know about it…

there are certain people who have been to the Nov CW and they haven’t even submitted their apps yet!..also, they plan to apply for ED-2!..now, hows tht possible?..could it be tht the univ invited them or what?..anyone has any idea?

:(

nominated ones maybe,
are there many people? why not ask them…

@silkysilky23 — That’s how being a nominated student works. If you’re nominated and you’re good enough with what you provide on a nomination form, you can be invited to a CW quite early say November. Since nominated students are actually meant more like as to be convinced to actually apply, they invite them early. And its clearly possible for a nominated student to have an idea by experiencing AD in a CW, and then think whether to apply as ED-1/ED-2 or RD according to the deadline.
