NYU acceptance rate..

This I found very interesting.. the NYU acceptance rate is now 15 percent! .. that's really bad guys . .ahh.. my hopes of getting in are slipping even farther away from me .. lol

that's ridicuously low. is that RD admit rate?

The acceptance rate for 2003-2004 is 32.1%.

The individual acceptance rates for each NYU school vary slightly from that number but are roughly the same.

princetonreview has the updated acceptance rates and NYU has 15 percent.. unless they made a mistake- but I would highly doubt that..

princeton review also says the acceptance rate for cooper union is 5% but its actually more like 12-15-%

what does princeton review say the acceptance rate is to princeton lol

http://www.princetonreview.com/college/research/profiles/admissions.asp?listing=1022976&LTID=1

wow it does say 15

i bet its a mistake because the sats on there are a few years old

maybe nyusternmom wasnt lying lol

Average high school GPA is now 4.0? Wow...although it's strange SATs haven't changed.

From NYU's website, though I'm not sure how old it is:

Freshman Admissions

• Number of applicants 33,889
• Admitted 28.6%
• Early Decision applicants 2,849
• Early Decision % of class 31.3%
Transfer Admissions

• Number of Applicants 4,090
• Admitted 31.5%

collegeboard.com usually has the right stats.

OK, according to them, they admit 32% of freshman and 35% of transfers. That's definitely more consistent with previous years, though I know NYU is becoming more selective, I doubt it rivals the Ivies in terms of acceptance rates. Not even Penn accepts 15% (more like 20%).

Some sites are more dependable on others. I guess collegeboard is trustworthy, but I think the college website is the best way to go. Usnews is badly out of date. They even have wrong app deadlines sometimes. I also have seen some mistakes in Princeton Review about app deadlines.

The P.R. numbers seem wrong.

I would imagine the current NYU acceeptance rate is around 25-28%....depending on the source. 15% doesn't seem right at all, it could be the RD only not taking into account the ED, but it still doesn't appear correct.

That's not right. Total of accepted students who enroll: 88%? Pssshhh, yeah right. The 15% acceptance rate is also a bit low, afterall they did accept me.

Yeah...sheesh, the PR site has a bunch of wrong stats...the SAT stats are wrong, 1210-1410 isn't correct, because the mid 50% range for NYU is 1300-1450, and the amount of top 10% is also wrong (its like more 72%, not 62%).

according to college board the 50% range for SATs is 1210-1410 so I guess both sites are right, where did u get yer info?

The NYU factbook has their stats for 2003-2004 incoming freshman class. It shows a 32% acceptance rate (that is ED and RD together), and a 39% yield (number of accepted students who actually enroll)

average gpa = 4.0? Doesn't NYU check unweighted GPA?
