NYU Alternative Testing Policy!

Hi everyone,

So, I'm a potential ED2 applicant looking to apply to NYU CAS (maybe Stern)!

I think the rest of my application looks good, but I'm worried about my test scores! I tried really hard, but I can never get my scores within the NYU CAS ranges for the SAT or ACT. I was really worried, but a friend told me that I could just send my three SAT II test scores (which combined are a 2200-math, physics, and social studies) instead. After looking at the website, I found that this was true, but I'm worried that sending three subject tests instead of my SAT or ACT scores will make me look bad/suspicious.

Anyway, was anybody here admitted with only three subject tests? I'm really curious to know whether this is as viable as what the admissions site says!

Thank you so much!!

CJ

Yeah, it’s definitely viable! That is why they offer them. Since you say they combine to 2200, they must be pretty good. If they are better than your SAT reasoning test scores, I’d send them.

On the website it says that they would like to see one literature sat II, one math and one free choice. so I would suggest submit an literature one instead of physics or social studies

No, I think you’re good. They like to see one math and one humanities, and you’ve got the humanities covered by social studies.
