hey im new to this site. I just started community college this week. I'm a freshman and am interested in transfering to nyu or columbia. Can someone who transfered from a community college to either one of those schools, explain to me how they did it? id appreciate it so much :)

went from a NY CC to NYU. i was a third semester transfer, so i started spring of my soph year at NYU.

GPA: 3.46
SATs from HS: 610V 550M SAT II: US History 550 Literature 690
HS GPA: 92/100
lots of music ECs. . .
rejected from NYU ED.

college ECs:

student music teacher
intern for a non-profit
varsity athlete for two years
retail job
recipient of honors scholarship

for basic transfer info, look at the sticky at the top of the forum.

basically, have ECs you are passionate for, a high GPA and a lot of enthusiasm for NYU. i probably wouldn’t have gotten in to NYU if it weren’t for the ECs and the recs from those ECs.

NYU accepts spring traNSFERS?

certain schools do. i’m not sure Stern does. i was Steinhardt.
