NYU and its cost

"I would have a serious problem paying NYU prices for something other than Tisch or Stern."

That has to be the most ridiculous item of the day. I'm a math major and NYU has one of the best math departments in the nation, yet by your logic, I'm somehow being more ripped off than a Stern marketing major. Also about 1/2 of Stern classes are taken outside of Stern, so do you then have a problem paying half the tuition? If you really want to calculate things money wise, Tisch is the riskiest NYU school of all since being big time in the performing arts is a long shot no matter where you went to school and Tisch also costs a little more than the rest of NYU.

However, at the end of the day, this discussion is pretty pointless since the free market has spoken loud and clear. NYU gets far more apps with people willing to pay than there are spots available, so I would say the verdict is that NYU is "worth it".

Theaterguy: Well said.

Expensive but worth it. Amen.

Agreed. Coming from someone who has to work hard to even get the money to go...I believe that NYU is worth it. But people have their own opinions...mine is that I would pay whatever it takes to go to NYU.
