NYU and U of Rochester (moved to this section for faster response)

Hey all. I have to make a choice between the two universities listed in the title. Now, excluding the environment, surroundings, weather, etc., which school do you think is best for pre-medical studies, and why do you think so? Thanks a lot for the input, I have to make a decision within the next two weeks.

apparently, it's URochester. NYU is not strong at science

Could you go into detail about this?

gotta go with U of Rochester for pre-med.

In terms of getting into medical schools, which school has a higher rate?

Rochester, definitely! I was there for an information session the other day, and 85% of Rochester pre-meds get into medical school, vs. the 34% national average.

NO!
go to NYU

NYU also has a very good medical school. It also has good research facilities. Many of the docs have affiliations with Sloan Kettering and the Rockefeller Research center.

Hopkins has the best undergrad med program, but it is also very cometitive. It can be easy to go there and get lost in the very competitive med school atmosphere. One bad first semester, and you're just another mediocre hopkins premed. At place like NYU, you may have more of an opportunity to shine in premed, as well as get more attention in premed.

I'd say URochester as you look for a school that has the best pre-med program. You need reasons? Check out URochester forum! There're many info that could answer all your doubt about URochester. Indeed, many people have said URochester is superior in medicine.

Rochester for premed

URochester.
