NYU AP Credit

Hello,

I was accepted ED to Stern and was looking at the Writing the Essay exemptions and NYU's site: (Freshmen) says that you are exempt from WTE if writing score is above 750 or you have a replacement course if between 720-740. I have a 700 so I qualify for neither.

But....
An NYU administrator at (SAT Writing score used for credit - Topic Powered by Eve For Enterprise) said that all students are required to take the WTE class unless you score a 4 or 5 on the AP Literature Exam. The thing is I have not seen NYU this state anywhere(I have looked thoroughly) about being exempt from WTE from AP exams.

So my question is what is Stern's up to date policy on AP exams and WTE?

I ask because I had decided not to the take the AP exam since I though I wasn't getting credit or WTE exemption but I might have to change my mind if I do get WTE exemption.
Thanks.

lol.....does anyone know the answer?

I need to decide whether or not to take the AP exam by next week.

AP credits have nothing to do with being exempt from WTE, as far as I know.

I was exempt from it because of my SAT scores. Retake the SATs until you get that 750. It's worth it, trust me.

eternalsunshin3,

I thought the same thing as you did but I saw that the NYU Administator at (SAT Writing score used for credit - Topic Powered by Eve For Enterprise) said that AP scores can be used for exemption, so I'm kind of confused as whether or not AP scores can get me out of WTE.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but does anyone know what is a “replacement course” for WTE?
