<p>No. One application is for use at multiple colleges so that you don't need to refill applications to apply to other schools, the other is purely for NYU's purposes only. They wouldn't provide you with two choices if they didn't want you to use them or if they would "boost" your chances.</p>
<p>they probably prefer the NYU app or why else would they make it- just as they prefer online apps more</p>
