<p>hi i applied RD and i got an email a while back saying that my app was recieved and it gave me an ID number and whatnot but there was no website or anything where it said i can check if all my materials have been submitted or check the decision of my app. is this the way it is for everyone or have you guys gotten another email after that initial one? also are the decisions emailed to you or just mailed.</p>

<p>I'm going to cut and paste what it says on the NYU admissions forum.</p>
<p>"Notification letters are provided by US Postal Service only. We do not notify applicants by e-mail, the internet, or over the telephone."</p>
<p>"We simply file documents and credentials that are received before an application is received. When applications come in, we check them against those files so we can match things up. We do not acknowledge complete applicaitons, but we will let you know if we are missing anything."</p>
<p>When asked if they could confirm application completion by phone...</p>
<p>"To be honest, it depends upon when you call. We are - and will be for the next several weeks - pretty focused on freshman applications right now. Be sure you have applied before you call, and then give us a chance to assemble your various credentials in your file before you call."</p>

<p>Hope this helps. You're lucky though -- I'm a transfer applicant and won't hear back until mid-May.</p>
