So I had an idea...don't know if it will work, but maybe it might beat the system?

I recieved an application ID number beginning with the letter "N" and I was wondering if accepted students had to use that somewhere to register for anything? Maybe we could test our IDs and see if it lets us register lol?

Idk if this will work...but just curious because I need to finalize my college decisions, i can't wait any longer!

Ugh, there was a thread about this last year, I think. It was either here or on the transfer board. I’m not sure if it was ever proven if it worked or not. shrug

Try this website if it works for you…

https://start1.nyu.edu/ibin/start0.cgi

I got an error…not sure if this is universal or not…it says if you don’t have a net ID number then u can use ur social security number and date of birth, but i got an error…

hmmm…

Im wondering if the N ids are different when students get accepted or same as application ones

Nope, the ones you get during the admission process are the ones with you forever, if you become an NYUer.

well im assuming u cant register for a netid until you pay your enrollment or something lol

but it let me register for admitted student days…i was just trying it out and it worked!

idk if thats a sign or not cuz it seems like anyone can register for it…but who knows

i did this using my ss# and it assigned me a netid… dunno what that means, or if it means anything at all. i’m not a freshman applicant though. i applied to the accelerated nursing program.

lol its probs a good sign…any freshman applicants want to give it a go?

did u pay already?

ooh sh** it worked… lets hope that means good news
btw no email(s), no mail

hope this is true

are u a freshman applicant?

when i tried with my social i got this error:

anyone else?

i was accepted to nyu and got my # in the packet. i signed up and logged in successfully on nyuhome

um yea applied as freshmen
hope this is a good sign

tried, didnt work for me, now im positive i wasnt accepted :P

i wouldn’t take it as the end-all-be-all if it doesn’t work (and if it does). I saw a post on here of some people that were officially accepted (sent a letter already) that weren’t able to activate theirs. So you never know…

lol oh god i cannot take this anymore…

If i do not get something tomorrow, i have no idea what to do!!!

didn’t work!
no email, no mail either

The website does not work for me. I got an error:

“Only current members of the NYU community are eligible to use

May someone who has been accepted recently please confirm this site?

https://start1.nyu.edu/ibin/start0.cgi

Haha…I was just accepted. It still doesn’t work for me!

This is no sign of rejection lol. Although I do have to call that number on Monday and see what’s up!

It says:

"Attention! Your NetID has already been activated.

If you have forgotten your NetID or need to re-set your password,
please contact the ITS Client Services Center at 1.212.998.3333
for assistance."

WHAT? Does this mean I GOT IN? I applied as a transfer to TISCH and i should be waiting to hear back this coming week. But I never registered my number or anything and I literally copied and pasted it from the admissions e-mail…

What do you guys think?
