NYU has the option of sending 3 AP scores as an alternative to the SAT or ACT.
I took the SAT only once and BOMBED it, I’m talking crash and burn here. I got a 1580 which was dissapointing to say the least.
My AP scores are slightly better
AP Bio: 4
AP English Lang. and Comp : 4
AP Psych: 4
AP Human Geo. : 4
AP US History : 3
I plan on taking the SAT at least one more time, but if my score does not improve drastically, should I send my AP scores? And if so which three should I send in?
Just thought that I should add that I am applying to Tisch school of dramatic writing
Use your AP scores, and then take a few SAT Subject tests on the side and score >700 and I think you will be ok. Even if you raise your SAT 300 points which will be tough, you will still be at an 1900, which is far below admission standards especially for Tisch.
Okay, thanks for the advice. I took the SAT US History test and got a 720 on it. If I do end up sending my AP scores , which ones? I was thinking
-AP Bio
-AP Eng. Lang.
but I don’t know which one for my 3rd score, because I feel like AP Psych and APHG are blow off AP classes, and my APUSH score isn’t high enough
I wouldn’t say AP Psych and AP Hug are blow off courses. Send in the AP Psych score. Also, there is a chance that you could just send Subject test scores, since a 720 on U.S History is very good. Take Math 2 in October. Even if you aren’t great at math (I have no idea if you are or not) it is still pretty easy to achieve a high score (750+) on the exam. Then find a third exam to take, perhaps bio and try to get >700. Then you are set.
