Nyu bpe

Does anyone know how the recruiting for the Stern BPE program is compared to the normal Stern program?
Can you switch to the normal program if you were admitted as BPE ?
Are the classes generally easier or harder?
Thanks!

Did you get into BPE? So jelly

I’m sure you can switch out but you can’t switch in and you do have to take certain core classes

Here is what I know,

Recruiting is more selective for BPE, 5-6% acceptance rate, I think I read somewhere - Class of 2015, 800 applied and 40 got selected.

You are allowed to switch Programs.

Some BPE course requirements are different eg. Intro to Economic and Political Thought and Macroeconomics.

actually you aren’t allowed to switch programs

They do not encourage it though. But it happens.

And nejworld, you are right, “I’m sure you can switch out but you can’t switch in.”

Yes I got in! But I’m not exactly sure if that’s what I want to do anymore :frowning:
I heard you miss out on a lot of recruiting opportunities since your abroad so much.
I know the site says you can’t but a lot of forums say that you can… They probably just would prefer students not to.
Do you guys know anything about recruiting for BPE students versus Normal Stern in terms of Ibanking/finance?
Thanks so much!

Junior summer recruiting occurs on campus in late January, with the earliest application deadlines in late December. Recruiting is typically rolling as different firms have different deadlines. There’s no difference in OCR.

The main difference stems from not being able to do as much networking, although it is obviously still possible to do informational interviews in London, Shanghai or DC (to a lesser extent). There’s also no difference in FT recruiting, as that occurs the fall of your senior year.

want to trade? you go to regular business and i’ll do BPE

would you mind posting your scores/ECs/GPA? BPE is my dream program, and I’m wondering what I need to get in there. Congratulations!
