I know that Stern and Tisch's got admission interviews, but CAS's got interviews too?</p>
<p>I’m not aware of NYU ever giving interviews? NYU has never been of the practice to give interviews to any applicant, ever.</p>

<p>Apparently, certain majors give out interviews. I think it all depends on what you’re applying for. (For instance, I’m applying to Recorded Music at Tisch, and I did an interview/audition over Skype.)</p>
<p>Tisch doesn’t count. Tisch gives auditions, etc. </p>
<p>For CAS, NYU never gives interviews. </p>
<p>If NYU gave interviews to some applicants and not others, those applicants would have a potentially unfair advantage. Since NYU receives some 45,000-47,000 applications per year, they can’t interview all of their applicants - especially since some applicants are from over 50+ different countries.</p>
<p>Thus, NYU doesn’t give interviews.</p>

(Though I suppose most of Tisch’s “interviews” are fundamentally just a part of the artistic review process.)</p>
<p>NYU CAS as a whole may not give out interviews. Even still, with jillweng telling us he got the email, I don’t find it too far-fetched for the Mathematics department to Skype certain applicants they’re interested in. Interviews aren’t necessarily “a potentially unfair advantage,” especially when offered based on merit and not on a first-come-first-served basis.</p>
<p>My S was asked to pick a time that he might be asked to interview for the Clive Davis school via skype but he hasn’t heard anything yet. Does anyone know how much notice they will give him if he is asked to interview?</p>
<p>emtnstr, I’m applying ED2 to the Clive Davis Institute, and I was given about a week’s notice for my interview.</p>
