NYU CAS transfer: chances? Advice?

Hello. I'm currently a sophomore in college and was wondering if I have any chance whatsoever for transfer into NYU's College of Arts & Sciences. Thanks.

High school:
GPA: Hmm. It was 3.25 last year when I was applying to schools, but that didn't include senior grades. I'd better check it again - my grades went on an upward curve starting junior year, and in senior year I received a 95 or higher in all classes, so I bet it's higher now.
ACT: 28. Ugh.

SAT II's: Above 700 on U.S. History, World History, and Literature.

AP's: 4 or 5 on U.S. History, World History, European History, English Language, English Literature, U.S. Government & Politics, Comparative Government & Politics. I never actually took a course in AP World History, though, I taught myself; and I learned AP European via an independent study through my high school.

EC's: Quiz League, starter position all 4 years.
Tennis team, freshman year
Debate club, junior and senior year
Multimedia club, junior and senior year
Mock trial, senior year
Theater techie, senior year
Film club, senior year (founder)
Volunteer for congressional candidate, junior year.
Volunteer for mayoral and city council candidates, senior year.
Homeless outreach volunteer program, founder, senior year
Student newspaper, founder & editor, senior year

I know, I know, not the best record; I didn't really wake up until I was a junior. I was realistic enough to know I couldn't get into NYU. Anyway, here's my record so far college-wise:

GPA: 3.8
EC's:
Founder of homeless outreach volunteer program. Again. Definitely what I devote the most time to.
Film club
Theater techie
Student newspaper
Another student newspaper, this one founded by me
Debate club
Quiz Bowl
NYPIRG (political volunteer group)

My intended major in the CAS would be Creative Writing. I'm trying to decide whether to put in my application for the spring semester or not, and simply wait to apply as a junior. Or, maybe I'll become a temporary visiting student at NYU through their 1- or 2- semester visitation program and apply for transfer at the end of that.

Any suggestions as to what I should do?
