I will be transferring in as a sophomore. I've been accepted to both. I'm interested in trading.

NYU definitely has an advantage in that I will have access to a lot of internships during the year. On the other hand, I will be disadvantaged for not being in the business school (Stern).

At UVA I will be in the business school, but I won't be able to do internships during the year as Charlottesville is tiny. Since I will be living on campus, I think the social life might be better at UVA as well.

Any thoughts?

Hi, I was wondering when and how you heard that you had been accepted as a transfer applicant. I also applied as a transfer but have not heard anything yet.

Trading jobs may be difficult to find in the future with the Dodd Frank bill

I would stick with UVA, although NYU is solid, you will be at a dissadvantage not being in Stern. McIntire is a great school. Keep in mind one of the best traders in modern time, Paul Tudor Jones, went there.

Trading is very business oriented, so I’d go to McIntire. In regard to internships, you still have summer internships as options. You may not get as many immediate connections as you would at Stern, but McIntire has a great reputation and is becoming harder to get into.

NYU everyday allday. It is a much more globally respected and heard-of name and if you are able to keep a decent GPA in CAS i hear, you will be a competitve applicant for jobs, given that you may need a bit more networking. BTW: saw your post on this on WSO too goodluck fellow monkey
