Hi, I am currently an undergrad student at Queensborough Comm College. / (A CUNY School) I just finished my 3rd semester and hold a cumulative GPA of 3.3
I am hoping to apply to NYU's Stienhardt School under the CCTOP program. The question I am asking is regarding my cumulative gpa. I recievd a GED from in 2002 and I attended one semester at Brookdale CC in NJ (I used to live in NY, but my parents went through a divorce and I had to move, so I got my GED and moved to NJ with my mom) I didn't do so well that semester and a got a bunch of WU's and 1 B in English 101. That semester is over 5yrs ago and my life is totally different from then until now. After the bad semester at Brookdale, I started working full time and moved back to NYC on my own. When I was turning 21, I realized that although I make decent money, to achieve my dreams I will at least need a BA, so I enrolled in QCC full time. I'm not making excuses, but I made mistakes 5 years ago, I didn't take college as seriously as I should have, but since being at QCC I've had mostly A's in many of my courses, my GPA suffers at a 3.3 because of a C- in my recent calculus class. Otherwise my transcripts are mostly A's and B's. (I am also an Honor's student here) Will my record at Brookdale severely hamper my chances at NYU despite it being 5 years ago? Please advise

Thanks,
Dave
