NYU chances? PLEASE HELP!

Hey everyone, I am looking to apply to the Stern Business School or Gallatin or Tisch or CAS. Here is what I have. I am looking to do EDII or Regular Decision. However financial aid is a major factor. Which school do you think I should apply to and receive the most financial aid? THANKS!

Academics Stats:
GPA: 3.44 (this can improve my senior year)
ACT: 27 (this can improve too)

Extracurriculars:
Founder and head of Film Club
Co-President of the Fine Arts Association
Model United Nations Member - (my resolution at the NHSMUN was passed and presented to the UN)
Economics For Leaders Member / Participant at Emory University
Marist Summer Pre-College Business Program (awarded scholarship to attend this program and earned 3 college credits)
Job (which I had for 4 years)
Owner of a movie review website
New Jersey Festival of Ballooning Volunteer for 4 years
NYRA Representative for my school
Junior Achievement Member
MY schools PALS Program (I help incoming freshman to my school)

Common App:
VERY VERY STRONG teacher recommendations
VERY VERY STRONG essay

I wouldn’t recommend applying to Stern as your stats are significantly lower than their averages.

Bring your ACT above a 30 and try to improve your GPA and you’ll have a better chance at admission to Gallatin or CAS. Right now, though, it’s a definite reach.

Stern - Less than 5% chance of getting in.
Gallatin/CAS - 10% max.
OK E.c.s - not good for business.
GPA too low for a competitive advantage for NYU in general, and ACT is just barely below average.

i’d be surprised if you honestly had a very strong teacher recommendation since you managed a 3.44, but what do I know :)

sorrryy but you’ll probably get rejected. Over 30,000 people (including myself) got rejected in the spring of 2011

My stats:

GPA: 3.55
SAT: 1880

“i’d be surprised if you honestly had a very strong teacher recommendation since you managed a 3.44, but what do I know”

Excuse me, but you’re kind of an a.sshole. One can have a very strong rec, regardless of GPA.

Hey I’m applying NYU CAS, but I think u should get ur Gpa to a 3.5 and ur ACT to at least a 30 and u stand a better chance…u sound like a great student…and good luck
